The Winter Games are over, but the bedroom games are just beginning…
This is about the time I normally hang up my snowboard and chill for a while. Except this year. This year, I’m dealing with what fate dealt me at the Winter Games—nope, not gold. A broken arm.
Since I’m not close to my family, I head to my best friend, Skylar’s pad to recoup. Turns out having your gorgeous, single, sexy friend wait on you hand and foot can blur the lines between friendship and romance.
Which is exactly why I’ve decided to help her find a boyfriend.
Yeah, you heard me right. I’m going to help her comb through every dating app available until she finds the perfect man. What else could remind me of my place in her life more than watching her fall for someone else?
I can deal. I’m used to pushing through pain. I’m an Olympian after all.
Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
This was a great ending for this series. But this story on it's own was amazing.
The way these two authors presented this story and everything these characters were going through just hooked me. The story behind Beckett, his past and his reasons for never pursuing anything with Skylar before were understandable. It helped me to better relate to his character and actually prevented me from feeling frustrated with him throughout this book. I know the emotions and doubts he was going through stemming from his past. I understand how those past insecurities can effect your adult life and relationships. I feel like I really just got him.
Skylar came across so clearly with her vulnerability and big heart. Even with this story being from Beckett's POV, little things about her were shown that were so very telling about what kind of person she was without just having to hear the thoughts about her in Beckett's head.
Once again Piper Rayne managed to finish one series, have me love it and all the characters from it, and also present me with so many characters that I hope to read about in future. This was another great book. It was another great series under their belts. And now I have to wait and be on the look out for their next release. I'm certainly looking forward to it.
When you think Piper Rayne you probably think light and fun, with plenty of laughs, good friends, and a fair amount of heat. With Break the Ice you’ll definitely find all of the above, but it’s also a more emotionally charged story between 2 best friends who just can’t seem to get on the same page. The impression I had of Skylar and Beckett’s relationship from the previous two books in this series was thrown out of the window once I started reading.
I wasn’t expecting how much of an emotional punch this story would give me, when it really started to delve into Beckett’s back story. My heart broke for him. His love for Skylar wasn’t ever in question, but he didn’t feel he was worthy of her, and that made me so sad. It was hard to see the pain both Beckett and Skylar went through because of his choices. I’m in no way blaming him, he was doing what he thought was best. But thankfully, they have really great friends who are always there to make each other see the error of their ways.
Break the Ice was a sweet, moving end to the Bedroom Games series. I can’t wait to see what Piper and Rayne have up their sleeves for us next!
Well, this was just ridiculous fun! The whole series, not just Break The Ice. I enjoyed all three tremendously and that’s saying something because let’s face it, how many times do authors hit it out of the park on every book. Not that often, but this pair did that with this trio of books. I was highly entertained throughout them all :)
Best friends thru thick and thin become more ……. *happy sigh* (that’s one of my faves) Beckett and Skylar did the friends thing real well and it took a lot for Beckett to get past his past to be ready to acknowledge that Skylar was way more than just a friend to him. Skylar was another story. She was a hard nut to crack but when she did, ohhhhhhhh the sweetness of it all!
This story was not just entertaining in a rom-com kinda way, it was also an emotional story of growth and trust. It was fun and flirty and feely and all around good time!
Break the ice was a great ending to a series. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and have to say, Break the Ice is my favorite. I love stories of friends becoming lovers. I have really enjoyed getting to know these characters in this series.
These two are definitely two stubborn people. So stubborn that I would love to knock some sense into them. Beckett and Skylar make the cutest couple. They have been best friends for four years. Everyone else knew that they would end up together, so why did it take so long? They both have different things they want for the future which puts a strain on their friendship and makes it hard them to move past the “friendship” level.
Break the Ice is the third book in the Bedroom Games Series. It can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading the whole series.
The final book in our BEDROOM GAMES series is AVAILABLE NOW! If you're looking for hot and swoonworthy snowboarders, this is the series for you! THREE complete STANDALONE novellas guaranteed to bring you Heartwarming Humor with a Side of Sizzle!
Honestly, this entire series was simply refreshing. From the MMC's perspective, short, lovely dialogues, emotion, banter. You don't need to think a lot while reading, so they're perfectly short reads after an exhausting day when you just want to relax, think about nothing at all and enjoy a cute little romance. 🥰💗

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Break the Ice is the third and final book in Piper Rayne's Bedroom Games series and it gets a gold medal! It definitely helps to have read the first two books in this series to better understand the previous interactions of the hero and heroine.
Beckett Myers and Skylar Walsh have been best friends for several years and there was no doubt to everyone around them that these two belonged together, but the question was, did they realize that?!
After coming back from the Winter Classics, Beckett was hoping to relax and chill, but not in the way he's being forced to - with a broken arm. Since he's not in touch with his family, he heads to Skylar's house to recover. While Beckett might be confident and secure on a snowboard, when he gets off the mountain, he has a mountain of insecurities. Even though he feels deeply for Skylar, he's doing everything he can to fight his attraction for his best friend even going as far as setting her up on a date. His biggest fear is losing the one person he counts on most in his life if they cross that line between friends and lovers. Will he be able to take the biggest risk of his life to make Skylar more than a friend?
This was another well written, engaging book. I give huge props to Piper and Rayne for the way they wrote the character of Beckett and stayed true to who he was. I loved seeing both Beckett and Skylar being vulnerable even when it was difficult to eventually get to the place they both wanted to be. I can't wait to see what is next for this writing duo!
Skylar and Beckett’s story is a fabulous finish to the bedroom games series. The authors have written a wonderful series with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. The comedy and banter they have written into this book are just priceless (from the kids walking in on Beckett in “all” his glory to Skylar’s “dates”) you’ll be smiling and laughing page after page.
The Classic games are over and Beckett has returned to Skylar's home so she can help him get around with only one arm. (As we know he broke his arm in Book 2). These two have been the best of friends for 4 years, the trouble is Beckett wants it to be more but he is afraid he’ll lose her friendship altogether when she finds out what a screwed up mess he is. So when he convinces her she needs to get out there and date, they set out together to find her the right guy. I am not sure who has it worse, Beckett for wanting to ruin the dates or Skylar for having to actually put up with the dates. Thus the laughter and fun in the storyline begins in earnest.
I can’t begin to recommend this series enough. The 3 book series, which concludes with Break the Ice, is packed full of fun, laughs and romance. 2 Thumbs Up and Kudos to the authors, Piper Rayne, for a job well done.
I’m running out of words to describe the greatness that is Piper Rayne and their books!! I have loved every book that they have put out and I honestly don’t see that changing. They are an awesome team and know what they are doing together. And obviously Beckett and Skylar’s book is no different. With Beck I went between wanting to smack him upside the head repeatedly to just cuddling him and letting him know he deserved everything in the world. And if I was Skylar I would have done that ....lol. But after being best friends for so long they both thought they were doing the right thing and taking the right time to do it. But sometimes fate might need a push. And y’all will need to read this book to see if they actually make it or push each other away. I promise it’s so worth it. One minute you will be laughing your hiney off and the next your crying your eyes out. Or you will be like oh my that sounds so much like me and my friends!! But you will always will be so sucked in to this book you will miss your day until you finish the book. I highly recommend this book and any book by Piper Rayne!!! - By Tina
4 Sterne
So, yet another series by this amazing duo comes to an end. There was no Classic Games in this one, just Beckett and Skylar fighting their feelings while negotiating their friendship. Beckett didn’t have the best of childhoods growing up and when he turned eighteen, he walked away, wanting nothing more than to forget all about it. But, it’s easier said than done, he’s kinda broken in that respect. But, somehow, he managed to make good, and now he’s at the top of his career. But, one silly slip up and he’s left paying the price. Skylar isn’t quite as vocal in her story, she knows how she feels about Beckett, but despite all their friends pointing it out, she doesn’t believe he feels the same way. They’re friends, and that’s all they’ll ever be, no matter what she really wants. Beckett has been trying to hide from his past since he turned eighteen. He’s struggled with it ever since but when he first saw Skylar he knew he wanted more, he just couldn’t ask for it. But, after breaking his arm, he is forced to rely on Skylar’s help during his recuperation and he falls even more in love with her. He hates seeing her meeting up with other guys and going on dates. One mad night of over-indulgence causes him to leave his inhibitions behind. All their friends could see these two belonged together, but Beckett is scared of never being good enough, of Skylar seeing the real him and wondering just what she was doing all along. Can he and Skylar finally have it all or will he be drowned by his own doubts. I loved this book and can’t wait for the next new series, from these two awesome authors. I’m sure I’m not the only one who can see another series in the makings in this book. The Bianco brothers, perchance? These Italian Stallions, Luca and Mauro sound hot and deserve the best story out there.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
Piper & Rayne are a great pair at writing funny and happy stories. In all their previous stories, I adored their work. That's not to say that I didnt adore this one. However, this one didn't punch the hole or give me a homerun. I understand the hardships of telling a story that might be foreign. Becketts story needed more depth. As a previous foster care child that lived many years in the system, I can say that it does make its mark in you and you have to create strength when their might be none in sight. Being that Beckett was abandoned that might have been more of the story. His worthiness was devalued and depreciated before he could understand the concept. I truly believe that if competing in the Olympics than there would have been counselors and individuals that would have assisted in his growth and allowed him to understand his worth more than his talent of his sport. I believe there is a lot of research that goes into a story and I am sure that it wasn't easy portraying his. I just wish there was more of a sexual chemistry between him and Skylar. There had to be more than one moment over 4 years besides the dancing in a club that put them in close proximity. Especially a moment that allowed them to lock eyes more than once and have more dialogue.
All in all, it was okay for me. I can't devalue the story because it is what it is. But I hope to see more in depth stories in the future.
Grady and Skylar are the last couple in this trilogy of Winter Classic books. And the best was saved for last. Grady and Skylar have been friends since the last Classics. They have friend zoned each other because neither wants to loose the other. This book has Skylar taking care of Grady after he broke his leg. She has taken him to her family home and is nursing him back to health. It's when they are alone with no distractions that their relationship can change. I loved the dynamics of these two. The tension is so great that they really have no where else to go. This book was more emotionally charged than the other two but stil has all the elements that I have come to love in Piper Rayne's books. Grady has overcome being in the foster system to become one of the best in his sport. He guards himself from rejection and it takes Skylar years to break down those walls. Then it still takes him facing what a reality without her would be like for him to get his head out of his butt. Of course, his two best buds help him out to see reality, too.
Break the Ice had me internally screaming, “Just kiss already!”. Like, friends-to-lovers? More like friends-to-me-losing-my-mind-waiting-for-them-to-get-it-together! ❄️❤️🔥
It was sweet, frustrating, emotional, and super romantic. The slow burn was real, the chemistry was undeniable, and the feelings hit harder than a wipeout on an icy slope.⛷️💞🥲
This book confirmed there are exceptions to rules... I always thought the third books in Piper Rayne's series were the best. Not this time. Piper Rayne dug themselves such a deep hole with this couple, they didn't know how to crawl out of it because the whole book had a "damn it, we need to have a three-book series, it's a must, no promising couple can't be left behind" vibe.
Skylar and Beckett's story could be summed up into a few points. 1) Friend-zone—This part was the longest, it took almost 60 % of the book. It was full of whining, self-pity, jealousy and so on and on... 2) Drunken sex 3) Nasty argument 4) Break-up—Ever-present feature, am I right? No getting rid of that one, because without it, the couples can't figure out they love each other. And they even weren't officially a couple. 5) Apology and happily ever after—We're lucky it always takes only one chapter for them for them to realize their stupidity.
Oh, the story of one true love, right? Who wouldn't want to live it...
*Read more of my reviews at Whoo Gives A Hoot* Break the Ice was the perfect ending to this incredibly addictive series. Like the synopsis says, "The Winter Games are over, but the bedroom games are just beginning…"
The dynamic duo Piper Rayne never disappoints, giving their readers exactly what they want and so much more. I think the this story was probably my most anticipated read in the series because in the past the final book ALWAYS turns out to be my favorite. As you can imagine that is exactly what happened once again! Beckett and Skylar's story was fall of great laughs, amazing friends and a the perfect amount of chemistry. What I didn't expect was the emotional aspect that this story brought. It was an unexpected delight and just made me connect with these characters more then previous characters.
After devouring this extraordinary read I cannot wait to see what Piper Rayne has up their sleeves next!
I loved Piper Rayne's Bedroom Games series! I really loved how it ended with Beckett's and Skylar's story. This book can be read as a standalone, but if you want to get the depth of these two's relationship, you can see it starting from book one.
I knew somehow these two were soul mates. Not by a romantic relationship wise, but as best friends. They hung out all the time. And when the worst happens to Beckett, he reaches out for Skylar. With the insecurities and drama around this story, these two tried so hard to stay away from each other. The most emotional part was watching Beckett fight with himself and pushing Skylar away at the same time.
Break The Ice is sexy and sassy! A little emotional and a whole lot of love! I love how we end with this time of the year as the Winter Olympic closes, so does this series. I highly recommend this book and can not wait to see what is next for Piper Rayne!!!
Piper Rayne saved the best for last with their conclusion to the Bedroom Games series. I've been itching to get Skylar and Beckett's story. And OMG, was I ever surprised with the way it turned out. Totally did not expect it to be so emotional. No worries, though. Piper and Rayne's signature humor can be found through out the story. Beckett's backstory was surprising. I did not expect that at all. And that is why I find him to be one of my favorite Piper Rayne characters. Piper and Rayne continue to be favorites of mine and I can not wait to read what they come out with next. There were a few characters that intrigued me and this book whore needs more.
I’m running out of words to describe the greatness that is Piper Rayne and their books!! I have loved every book that they have put out and I honestly don’t see that changing. Hands down my favourite book in this Bedroom series. I love a great friends to lovers romance and this definitely had the angst part downpat. Skylar and Beckett have been best friends for four years, both having just completed the Winter Classics. Now Beckett is recovering from a broken arm, resting up and being nursed back to health by Skylar at her parent's place while they are away on vacation.
Their sexual tension is palpable, you just wanted to hit Beckett over the head at times, but his charm and big beautiful..heart and personality won me over in the end. Skylar was one strong, caring and patient lady! I loved their friendship and the jouney they took along the way. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This is the final book in the Bedroom Games Trilogy.
To those who have the guts to risk friendship for love...
This is a quick but fantastic read! We finally get the deep and dirty story of Skylar and Beckett. In the first two books of the series you see that these two just HAVE to get together, everybody can see it!
Beckett has a wheelbarrow of issues that hold him back from crossing the friendship line with Skylar and you just want to beat him about the head and shoulders and tell him "You are deserving!" Take the leap, do it before it's too late!
Skylar is hiding her vulnerabilities, keeping them close to her chest until she can't take it anymore and she gives and good as she gets.
I am so glad that after some moguls (keeping the theme here!) in their relationship, they decided to take the leap and get their happily ever after!
And as always, I love the tease of secondary characters and I know that the Dynamic Duo has another series on the horizon!
Hands down the best out of the three winter games books! I'm so in love with Beckett and Skylar. Their love story will leave you high and dry to crash and burn however you can still pull their love out of the wreckage! Skylar is stepping back to evaluate her life goals. Beckett is afraid to change paths and that fear is sown deep down. Together these two show what it's like to have that one great friendship that is so hard to let go or move forward. It's an amazing story to get lost in and will have the reader dying for the perfect ending! Well done Piper Rayne, well done!
Who doesn't love Beckett and Skylar? Throughout the whole series you see them and think why aren't they together. They are so cute the way they act like boyfriend/girlfriend but really are just best friends.
Things take a turn when they decide to give in to the sexual temptation that has plagued them for years but of course Beckett being the male he is, he thinks he's not worthy of love like everyone else and does some stupid bone head things.
After finally seeing what he did was wrong, will he be able to get Skylar back?
Love the Bedroom Games series and can't wait for the next series.
Break the Ice by Piper and Rayne is the third book in the Bedroom Games Series, and it´s a great one. Break the Ice is Skylar and Beckett´s story. Beckett Myers, silver medal winning snowboarder broke his arm and to regroup he lives now with his friend Skylar Walsh, bronce medal winner in the winter games. He has deep feelings for her, but tries to escape them and set her up with a date. They have the perfect friendship, so why ruin that with a relationship, he thinks. Break the Ice is a witty and fun read and kept me well entertained. The characters are great and the writing is brilliant. Break the Ice is my favorite read in the series. Break the Ice can easily be read as a standalone, there are only a few cross overs. THe previous books are Cod as Ice, Grady and Mia´s story; and On thin Ice, Dax and Demi´s story.
'Just friends' is the comfy place that Beckett and Skylar have found themselves for the last four or more years. After a night out on the town goes south quickly Beckett decides to give Skylar her chance at the 'future she deserves', without him. Things take a topsy turvy twist, but they get their HEA. (Grab a tissue for the end bit.... it is sweet.)
So this isn't the normal fun, light easy read that we are use to from Piper Rayne. Beckett and Skylar's story was emotional and heartbreaking at times because of Beckett's feelings of not being enough our deserving of love. Prepare yourself for some passionate and raw sentiments that will grip you throughout this read and holds on to you until the very end. I'm sad to see this series end but looking forward to the next amazing series by this dynamic duo!
This was Beckett and Skylar story. Sadly most of this book was all about him keeping their friendship until a drunken night crosses the line. Beckett has many dark demons haunting him from his childhood. He doesn't want to risk his friendship with Skylar so he ignores the brain in his pants for 3/4 of the book. Does love win? Or will demons win?
Kurz, gehetzt, sprunghaft. Bis heute frage ich mich, wieso die Autorinnen nicht aus allen drei Bänden ein Buch gemacht haben, was direkt alle drei Pärchen begleitet.
Break the ice hat mich in vielen Aspekten einfach gelangweilt.
