Oh my! This sexy, intense and completely gripping paranormal romance has pulled me into the world of Celeste and her paranormal men. I love the delicate world building, that doesn't overwhelm and is laced throughout the story. It was like a map unfolding at a pace that felt natural.
The well woven story was one that I could not get enough of. I needed to know what happened next and the romance felt natural and not forced.
While this reverse harem tale is undeniably sexy, the relationships between the main characters is integral to the story and does not overpower it.
This story delivered exactly what I wanted it to and leaves me wanting more.

Arc provide in exchange for an honest review

5 stars!!!!

I was very nervous to read this book as I’ve said countless times that I will never read a harem let alone a reverse harem book. But I finally tried one….and yes I loved it!! This book was simply amazing. I’m kinda shocked that I enjoyed it so much. The author’s writing sucked me in on the first page. I could not put this book down!

This is my first (most probably only) paranormal read this year and I am so happy I read this particular book to get me back into this genre. I normally don’t read books if it’s unclear who the hero is (especially if it’s not in the blurb). But I gave this book a try and I’m glad I did.

Celeste who has been shielded away from magic most of her life is now the most powerful witch in Devil’s Gate and the new Regent. Only she doesn’t know how to control magic and she now has a sexy vampire, a handsome faerie and a brooding werewolf all to protect her. Celeste also finds out that she’s The Vessel, she has the power to unite the species. A lot of burden on a nineteen year old hey?

I found Celeste to be a strong heroine who didn’t cower away and hide. She is straight forward character who always spoke her mind. As for Gage, Luke and Laken; I just loved them. All three were so protective of Celeste and did their best to help her. All of them are alpha males so it’ll be interesting to see how or even if they’ll share her heart. I definitely have my favourite alpha that I’m rooting for though.

Book one does end in a big cliffhanger and I have so many questions. Hopefully they’ll be answered in the following books to come!! Definitely going to read them all!

Update:
Interesting enough for me to want the next book. Especially with an ending like that.

Reading the prequel and I don’t know how I feel about Gage being one of the harem in this book. Blech.

Skip it.

I hate to knock an authors work, but I would recommend skipping this one. It reads like the author took all of their favorite elements of various paranormal books and copy paste them into one book with a reverse harem theme, because that is trendy right now, and called it a day. I spent the first 1/4 of the book feeling like I was missing part of the story until I realized the author just didn't bother to write those parts. The reader doesn't get world or character building, you literally just jump.from.one cliche scene to the next. Brooding vampire who wants her but refuses to act. Check. Flying/super fast speed from the vamp with do you trust me, ok let's do that again (twilight anyone). Check. Jealous human best friend who is in love with his paranormal bestie. Check. Overly flirtatious fairy who speaks in riddles. Check. Grumpy werewolf who has recently become.pack leader, acts indifferent to girl while everyone know he likes her, fight at pack party, challenged to alpha status. Check. Jealous paranormal ex girlfriend who kidnaps lover boy. Check. Girl who is clueless to the paranormal world. Check. Although this one makes NO sense because she lived in this world until she was 13 and was the second to last in her line after a bunch of deaths so not training/educating her would make zero sense. Zero. And she wouldn't just forget everything (and wasn't spelled to do so to fix this gaping plot hole).

Honestly having every single one of those things would be fine, because I love every single.one of those things, but the story is just so poorly written as so choppy that you couldn't get into things. If you are looking for a paranormal reverse harem that world builds, and develops these rich characters with tension that has you hanging in every word this is not the book for you. If you just want to get down to the sex, because this is a RH with sex, this is not the book for you. The sex when it happens feels so.out of left field and is so wham, bam, thank you maam , that even those looking for just a raunchy read are going to be like wtf this was luke warm at best. Even someone who is like i don't care I just want a RH are going to be pretty disappointed. You don't get any of the tension that comes.with a good rh where the girl struggles with liking more then one guy and seeing the guys navigate around liking the same girl.

It White puts some real.work.into this it could be something good, it's a good concept, but as is, skip it.

Great set up to what should be an awesome series!
We only really get to see Gage and Celeste interact together. Gage is a broody alpha male that doesn’t want to share but knows he has too. He and Celeste will have to learn to trust each other so they can change their world for the better.
I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the series. I think it’s going to be explosive! Lucas and Laken are hot as hell too but We just don’t see enough of them.
Narration was good. No complaints this way.
I do recommend this book.

Wonderful Starts to a Sexy RH PNR

I wasn't sure what to expect! This book was focused on world-building and setting up the love and relationships between CeCe and her three men! Ends on a significant cliffhanger but book two is pi😉🖤 I love that she is a witch and falling for a vampire, faerie, and wolf!

I should be ashamed to say this...should, but I'm not, Blood Lust definitely, definitely has me lusting. Full on hussy rubbing herself up against several men kind of lusting. I didn't start out this way...

I actually started this book immediately after finishing The Vessel. It was a difficult transition for me because I didn't realize the true nature of The Vessel. As a prequel, it starts the story off and I latched onto the idea of Sierra. However, Sierra isn't the main character and once I got over that it was smooth sailing.

Let me just say that if you've seen the inspiration for these characters you will have no trouble wishing to be Celeste. Trying to get the author to change her name from Celeste to Becky hasn't worked yet but I'm contemplating a petition. Everyone knows Becky is a better name. I would totally handle the situation with the grace and stamina it requires. 😂

My only complaint...is I have no access to the next in the series. Blood Lust ended leaving me desperate for more. I mean technically that's not a complaint but being that her name is still Celeste- I need some sort of gratification. 😉

I can't wait to see where this leads and if there's a name change later on...

Audiobook-

No shame in her game, Celeste is one lucky witch. Literally, she is a witch. The Regent of Devil's Gate actually. She is also the star in this reverse harem paranormal morsel. Filled with edible and deliciously naughty men, Blood Lust is a tease of epic proportion.

The beginning of an entertaining series and the start of a wicked journey, Blood Lust will emerse you in Devil's Gate culture, tickle your senses, and tease your libido. Just be careful because not everyone is on your side...

Sarah Puckett's breathy voice adds to the steam factor in this audiobook making it extra hot.

Blood Lust intrigued me from the moment I heard about it, sounding like the kind of paranormal romance book I would adore. With the promise of so many good things, I was eager to dive into this one.

Although Blood Lust was enjoyable, I feel as though this one only touched the surface of what could have been. It was well written and interesting, but I’d been expecting something a bit more explosive than what we were given. I think, in many ways, this book was just the set up to what is to come in the future books.

As a way to introduce us to the world and characters, Blood Lust was wonderful. It certainly sucked me in and left me intrigued, but I had been expecting a little bit more. I’m big on lots happening in my reads, lots of action and drama, and this one wasn’t quite to the level I usually enjoy.

I'm eager to see what book two brings, though. As I said, I feel as though this one was an introduction and big things are going to come in the rest of the series – and I’m certainly interested in watching things play out.

Why do I do this to myself?

Sorry.... the MC was boring, and easy and dramatic... and.... well, I wish I remembered anything remarkable about the rest of the story but I don't. sorry again. I hate leaving bad reviews. it just wasn't my taste, and I really like RH, and romance, and fantasy.

This book begins approximately 5-6 years after the end of The Vessel. Celeste is still dealing with the death of her sister and the recent death’s of 2 women close to her, in addition to trying to learn how to control her magic. She meets Gage, a vampire that knew her sister, and they strike up an uneasy friendship (initially). Their friendship quickly turns into more while Gage helps Celeste learn how to navigate the tense situation in Devil’s Gate. She eventually meets Lucas, a fae, and Laken, a lycan. Since this is the first book of the series, it is laying the foundation for the series storyline. Blood Lust is primarily told from Celeste’s perspective, but there are some brief glimpses into Gage’s perspective. Book 1 ends with a cliffhanger and without the full development of the reverse harem aspect of the story. I was a little surprised at how quickly the relationship between Celeste and Gage developed. In this book, she does have some interactions with Lucas and Laken, but her relationship with each of them has not developed even though she is attracted to them. I enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing how the relationships and the storyline will progress. I also look forward to getting a peek into Lucas’s and Laken’s perspectives (hopefully!) of the story in the future books.

Wow...this book! As soon as you start reading it kicks you in the guts and keeps you excited all the way through! Celeste is s good FMC and she is written very realistically...she has so much put on her quickly and yes she acts quite immaturely, but let’s give her that, she has lost everyone, find out how important she is and learns those close to her have been lying...let her get drunk and sook a little!! I absolutely love Gage, he is an alpha vampire who is very protective of Celeste and hates how he feels with her only being 19. Lucas and Larken are both good too...different, interesting and complex, but Gage is my fav!! This is a fantastic start to this series..but that bloody ending had me yelling for book two...I cannot wait to see what happens next, highly recommended!!

This story has everything! I was totally wrapped up in heart-sinking drama, nail-biting suspense, and thigh-clenching sexual tension. It totally drew me in. I've given it 5 Very Magical Stars and I can’t wait for the trilogy to continue. Blood Lust: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance - (Devil’s Gate #1) is by far my favourite book from Grace White yet. She has converted me into a lover of all things paranormal, given me a thirst for vampires, a longing for wolves, and a desire for faeries, while whetting my appetite for reverse harem.

Celeste’s awakening to her destiny unfolds to explain how she is the chosen one to unite the species living in Devil’s Gate. It is an intriguing premise and the connection, attraction, and desire she feels towards her three guardians is ever so tantalizing. Her bond with Gage is strong and he holds her heart but as her heart pulls her in three directions she learns that her love for one does not diminish her love for another, it enhances it, makes her stronger. It is a fight she cannot win so giving in to her heart and not having to choose is the best part. Sitting back and watching the fireworks fly as the males come to terms with how to share and play nice is going to be epic and no doubt will deliver a few rounds of laughter. Grace White has spun a tale to unleash your arousal and given us the perfect setting to enjoy vampire, wolf, and faerie in all their male glory.

The heroine is not a shrinking violet. She speaks her mind and stands on her own two feet as she learns her way and shows no fear. With the aide of the guardians her sister put in place, Celeste becomes the strong Regent she was born to be as she fights for unity and peace in Devil's Gate.

Book One has ended with a heart-stopping and dramatic turn of events that will leave all readers counting the days until Moon Cursed is released into the wild.

Blood Lust takes you on a magical adventure into the paranormal world of humans, faes, wolves, witches and vampires.

Sierra sacrifices herself in order to protect her younger sister. Celeste has been hidden for years in plain sight until she becomes of age to claim her birthright as Regent. She is a strong and determined young lady who has no control over her powers. She is the last of the La Fleur witches and is The Vessel. As The Vessel it is her duty to unite the vampires, faes and the wolves who are all at each others throats.

Celeste's heart desires three alphas who do not share. Who will she choose?

When she finally discovers the secret she is taken back. How will this affect her relationship with Gage, Laken and Lucas?

There is an evil woman lurking to destroy Celeste. What is her purpose?

I loved this book! Blood Lust:Devil's Gate is a unique story like no other paranormal story. You will lust for Gage, swoon for Lucas and crave Laken!

Can't wait for next installment! There is a cliffy but so worth the wait!

Absolutely loved this first book.I read the prequel The Vessel about Sierra and how it all came about, but this book was all about Celeste her sister and what she was going to become, the Vessel. This story tells of how she comes into her own, with the help of alpha Vampire Gage Coreil, plus Lucus a fae and Larken the wolf.

Wasn't sure how this was going to work as Gage was a hot sexy and very protective vampire who did not want to share Celeste at all,but meeting Lucas and Larken i can see how this is going to work, but definitely my favourite is Gage. There is lots at work trying to stop all these different species coming together to live along side each other, the plot has lots of twists that keep you guessing and i love that Celeste is no pushover and is fiesty.

The ending has left me now wanting book two,so glad that we don't have to long to wait.Five Magic stars for this first book in the series.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Great start to what is going to be an amazing new series by White. Estelle, or should I say Celeste, is one really powerful witch that is destined to be the Regent of Devil's Gate. The problem is that she has been in hiding for years while she finished growing up. Now her life is interrupted by powers she cannot control, vampires trying to hurt her, men she should be attracted to yet us, and lots of surprises just to shake things up a bit. Some incredible world building full of intriguing characters so different you never know what to expect. I look forward to book two! Perfect for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

ARC provided by the author.<\i>

Solid start to a series. There are witches, vampires, fae, and wolves. All at the brink of war - with each other and within their groups.

Celeste is the last witch in her family line, her sister died to protect her, and now 6 years later, she is ready to step into her role.

It is a reverse harem, so we get three males interested in her. I'm glad she won't have to choose. I wish their relationships were built differently.

Overall, entertaining, the second half of the book is stronger than the first (lots of whiplash on emotions and reactions).

I guess I'm lucking out tonight... This is a bunch of UF elements thrown together with little world building and very rushed writing. For the first quarter of the book, you don't really know what is going on or why; the next quarter the MC decides to trust her mortal enemy because reasons... Still don't really know what is going on... I'm moving on now, DNF.

Bewitching tale...

Having fallen in love with Sierra in The Vessel, it was with excitement and some trepidation that I embarked on the story of her sister Celeste...but of course this fantastical story of love and sacrifice in the face of great evil is in the hands of a wonderfully talented author..and my fears were unfounded...

That being said, I did not immediately fall in love with Celeste, I felt she was reckless and a little bit selfish, considering the protection she had been afforded by those in her past and present, but as her courage and determination began to grow, I joined the ranks of team Celeste, and believe you me, there are fair few of those. In particular a small, but perfectly formed harem of men who want to protect her, and potentially want something more...but I shall say no more about that; I am not going to spoil the enjoyment..

I loved the world building and the supporting cast of magical and mythical beings, providing suspense, fear, humour and romance; this book is very much a beginning as it sets the scene and moves the players into place; but one thing is for certain in this bewitching tale, nobody is safe....I can’t wait to see where the plot of this 4.5 star read takes me next...I received an advanced copy of this book from the author

Updated Review:

Celeste has been hiding her true identity so she can live life as a normal human. She also has a blood spell on her to disguise her appearance from the paranormals. The spell is only meant to last until her 18th birthday, but a tragedy keeps them from removing the spell and telling her the truth about herself. That is until she is approached while out and about one night by Gage.

This is my third time reading it and I was just as entranced by it as the first time around. I absolutely loved the story and the characters. I realize now that my previous review did no justice to this book at all. I'm thankful for the chance to redeem myself. I read the first two already, but I decided to reread them in honor of finally being able to read the third book.

Celeste is an amazing heroine. She's strong and independent, but she cares about the people around her. I really liked Gage too. He reminds me of Eric from the Sookie Stackhouse series (True Blood for those who have only watched the show). Laken is everything you would expect from a wolf shifter. He's fierce and loyal. My favorite would have to be Lucas the fairy. He's so witty and charming. I absolutely adore him.

I believe this is the very first book I ever heard by the narrator, Sarah Puckett. I absolutely fell in love with her voice. I've since listened to many other books that she has narrated. She's become one of my favorite narrators of all time. She's one of the best. I hope one day to become as amazing of a narrator as she is. I fully recommend anything that she does.

I so enjoyed this book. I know this is my third time reading this, but I have a feeling that it will not be my last time reading it. I also would love to get my hand on other books by this author. I can't think of anything to compare this book to, but it really stands well on its own. It's funny and dark and witty. I love it.

Original Review:

I took one look at this cover and just knew I would love it. I was not wrong. The characters are amazing. The story is amazing. I am glad that I chose to go with my gut reaction to this book. So far, it has not to lead me wrong. My best correlation I can give about this book is True Blood. Except the main character is a witch.

This book wasn’t bad but I feel like I was dropped in the middle of the story or the second book in the series. There was zero world building or character building. It’s like the author expected you to already know everything. After reading a few reviews I found out that there is a prequel. Prequels are fantastic,... but if it has that much important information it should be the first in the series, not the prequel.

So after the first maybe 3rd of the book, I started to grasp what was going on.. kind of. And the book does get better. We don’t get to know the characters all that well but what we learn of them I like.. except maybe Gage. I didn’t like him much.

It isn’t an original story by any means but it’s an enjoyable paranormal RH if you can get past the confusion at the beginning.

Blood Lust by Grace White is a Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance. I listened to this book on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett. Sarah did an amazing job narrating. This is the first book of Grace White's that I have read and look forward to reading more of her books in the future. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Romance, Paranormal, or Reverse Harem books.

I have read other works by Grace White, this one was a good read. Blood Lust is a reverse hare with paranormal characters (an all-powerful witch, fae, vampires and wolfs). The plot is quite a twist and keeps you wanting to read, simply to understand the mystery that is presented. The main character Celeste is a witch with immense power, who is supposed to become the leader of an entire community. While, I understand the gravity of this position after being in hiding for the last couple of years, it is difficult for me to understand that pretending to be human prepared her for nothing of her “new life” that she knew one day would come. I want to like her and by the end I do, but it takes some time because she is so unsure of herself and her position, as the novel builds and we get further into this story her backbone and strength come through, which is a needed change.

The men in the story, are quite the mystery, we are introduced to her entire harem, but this book is mainly Gage her vampire stalker and protector; who also happened to have been in a relationship with her now dead sister. This puts a bit of a damper on his character because this is mentioned not once but several times. I do like the mysterious, dark, sexy character he is, but I still feel disconnected from him.

We meet the other men as well, Lucas the fae; who is helping her learn her magic. There are intense moments of connection, but their story is not in this book. Their meetings are short and sweet. Laken is the third member of this group, and he is the wolf. Celeste and Lucas story starts in this novel, and I feel like they have more of a connection than Gage and her. Laken is the intense, brooding alpha who does not have the time for training Celeste to become Regent, but when she needs protection from the Vampire Coven, he is there to unwillingly hide her. Again, I feel like we learn more about Laken and his character than Gage; whom seems to be the main male character of this story.

I will read the future books of this series, I do recommend, but it was a slow building read for me.

Estelle Cotillard is not who the world thinks she is. Her sister sacrificed everything, including her life to keep her safe. She's been hidden in plain sight for years. But now it's time to step up, claim her rightful identity, and carry on her family legacy. Devil's Gate is in chaos. Vampires are facing a coup. The fae and wolves are about to go to war with one another. Humans live in fear. Years without a regent have been costly. Only the vessel has the power to unite and save them all.

I was almost afraid to begin Blood Lust. I loved the prequel, The Vessel so much. Sierra's sacrifice for Celeste gutted me. I was worried that Celeste wouldn't be worthy of the Le Fleur name in the same way. I was wrong to doubt. Celeste is young, untrained, uncontrolled but she is all Le Fleur. She's strong, determined, brimming with untapped power. I also wasn't sure what to think about the alliance Sierra formed and how it would play out with Celeste. Laken, werewolf and Lucas, fae make sense but I couldn't accept how Gage, the vampire would fit in with his past history. It did bother me. I wish there had been a conversation/explanation before things escalated. Once I got past the past, I decided I do love them together. Lucas is charming and Laken is the perfect hot, conflicted Alpha. It should be interesting watching Celeste keep these men in line. Finally, I was a little heartbroken over the absence of a certain human in the potential harem. I understand, but still!

This initial story set the stage, introduced the characters. It's a very good beginning. Devil's Gate, the Riverbank, The Quarter, and East Gate are vividly portrayed. The danger is evident from the different species and there's still The Old Ones to contend with. The tension between Celeste and her men is tangible. Her lack of control is worrisome and her list of enemies growing. The ending is a cliffhanger on multiple fronts but one has me on edge. I am looking forward to the next book!

Saved only because her sister made the ultimate sacrifice, Celeste La Fleur has been hiding in plain sight for the past few years from the magical community she was born to lead. As the last La Fleur witch, it’s up to Celeste to restore balance between the warring species of vampire, fae and wolves so that the human inhabitants of Devil’s Gate can escape the constant fear and threats of death and violence that have become their existence.

Now that Celeste has come of age, it’s up to her to claim her rightful place as Regent of Devil’s Gate. Doing so won’t be easy, however and she’ll need to rely on the three men who swore to her sister they would protect and support Celeste with their own lives.

As Celeste starts navigating her new role with the aid of the vampire Gage Coreil, faerie Lucas Cassel and wolf Laken Gallant she not only begins to explore her powers but also her undeniable draw and attraction to these three men.

Ohhh Grace White has brought together quite the delectable trio to guide and protect Celeste as she takes over the role of Regent of Devil’s Gate! All three men are leaders within their communities and about as alpha as can be . . . and, they all want Celeste! I can’t wait to watch these relationships develop as all four join together to end the war over power and supremacy happening in Devil’s Gate.

The author does a fabulous job setting up the this series, based on a prophecy that will forever join these characters. We get to spend time with each as they interact with Celeste, letting us know that sharing her affections won’t be easy for them, and giving readers a sneak peek at the sparks that will fly!

Devil’s Gate has a much darker feel that prior books I’ve read from this author, but I am totally loving it. While this book leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger, I found it to be completing intriguing and unique and I’m impatiently awaiting the next installment! 5 stars!

Celeste La Fleur has been hidden in plain sight of the magical community when her big sister Sierra saved her life. At the age of 13, The Ancients told her big sis that she (Sierra) had to give a special blood oath on a special blue blood moon for the Ancients to remain Regent (one who helps keep the peace between witch, fae, wolf and vampire)....what they neglected to tell her was the sacrifice was to be her 13 year old kid sister Celeste. Using her wits and love for her sister she went to the fae, wolves, humans and vamps to make a spell to hide Celeste in plain sight. And so that night on the blue moon instead of Celeste, big sis plunged the dagger into her own heart making Celeste the remaining La Fleur witch. Once she turned 18, Celeste learned the ENTIRE truth....how she was supposedly something called the Vessel....whatever that meant? That her beloved older sister died to save her life. The Ancients had made up this blood oath, but her sister knew they would not stop coming for Celeste. After years of living as a human her magic is all over the place....now is the time to become what her sister sacrificed her life for. Would she fulfil the destiny set out for her? Secrets revealed, trials to come, who is friend or foe? Will Celeste rise above all to come? See if she can once again unite Devil's Gate....or will the factions end up ripping each other apart? I loved this book. A wonderful beginning to a new series...filled with the paranormal, love, suspense, kick butt independent women and lots of magic. I for one can't wait to see what's to come!

Estelle Cotillard feels more at ease when she’s around family. Gage Coreil always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Terrin is an important person in Estelle’s life. He’s more than what usually a secondary character seems to be. There’s also a prequel that is important to this story. The Vessel should be read first because it’s a better way to understand the pain that you see at the beginning of Estelle’s story.

There are moments of confusion and of anger. The author does a great job at getting those feelings across. There’s a moment where Estelle’s confusion will lead to a discovery and that’s a ride that I’m glad to be on. Just as in our own lives, there are moments when we wish that our family members could be with us as we weave our way through the road blocks that can be put in front of us.

Now the author could have left the story just like that and I would have been a happy camper. But part of life’s discoveries is also finding a person to share your life with. Our author adds that into the mix and it had me wondering what else she may have in store for her characters and for us. This may have been a short read but it didn’t seem that way. Nothing seemed chopped or rushed. But the author did leave me wanting more – the ending is anything but. Good thing I only have to wait a couple of months to carry on this adventure she put me on.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
