The only kinds of luck I knew were bad and worse...until my life hung in the balance. I finally caught a break in the form of a second chance.
I vowed not to let it go to waste.
To make a difference.

But I didn’t start really living until I met him.
Dillon Montgomery.
My complete opposite—except for our matching tortured souls.

I couldn’t resist him for long.
How could I when his smallest touch made my heart race?
When it felt like we were destined to be together.

But sometimes luck and sorrow are intertwined...

Fortuity is the first book in the Fortuity Duet.

I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"

5 ‘Fortuitous LOVE’ Stars

All the feels! All the stars! All the Faith, Hope and LOVE!

Fortuity is an amazingly emotional and heartfelt journey! We could truly feel how close to Rochelle Paige’s heart this story is, considering the depth of Faith’s character. This is her story, from the horrible past, her journey and her discovery that Fate really works in the most complex and Fortuitous of ways, specially when it comes to Love (every single type in the spectrum)!

That was the day my luck changed. Somehow, a miracle happened. I was given a second chance. One I promised myself I wouldn’t waste.

And there enters Dillon, our dreamy and swoon-worthy hero! With plenty of scars of his own, serendipity couldn’t have paired a better pair of tortured and hurt souls. The perfect matching to heal all the pieces of their damaged hearts!

I was grateful to the magnetic pull I felt towards Dillon because it’d shaken me up. Taken me out of my comfort zone and into an unknown that was better than I could have possibly dreamed.

Fortuity truly was the perfect title for this beautiful story, and with that cliffy – fear not, it’s absolutely a bearable one! – curveball ending, I’m dying to get my hands on Serenity, coming out just two weeks after this one, May 8th! Can’t wait to see Faith and Dillon get their much deserved HEA!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I didn’t realize it at the time, but that was the moment I fell head over heels in love with Dillon. When I was at my most vulnerable, he accepted me exactly as I was. Scars and flaws included.

“I love you, Faith. So fucking much I can barely stand being apart from you some days.”

Fortuity is an amazing read. It's a heart string pulling, emotional read. Dillon and Faith are great characters that have gone through some tough times. At points I wanted to just crawl into the pages and give them a hug. Faith had a rough childhood and bad luck seemed to always find her. She is college now and things are looking up. She meets Dillon. Dillon had a much different childhood then Faith. He does have some demons to beat too though. These to have great chemistry. Their relationship starts slow and builds from there. This is part one of part two so of course there was a cliffhanger. Sometimes I dread cliffhanger but loved this one, it left me with questions and waiting for the next one.

“That was the day my luck changed. Somehow, a miracle happened. I was given a second chance. One I promised myself I wouldn’t waste.”

Fortuity is book one in the Fortuity duet by Rochelle Paige and is an emotionally charged, heart wrenching and soul searching story about second chances, faith, hope, love and the monumental effect they can have on just one person. This is my first book by Rochelle Paige and I’m both looking forward to and now dreading how this duet will end and the journey Rochelle will continue to take us on. I’m dreading it only because I hope above all else I get my long sought after HEA.

Faith (with her super appropriate name) has not had the easiest of lives by any stretch of the imagination. Faith has always been down on her luck pretty much from the moment she was born and I could only imagine living the life Faith has lived, it would so easy to just give up, but she didn’t and showed us how strong and inspiring she really is.

Love came along when Faith least expected it and it hit her hard. Faith was so busy making a difference in people’s lives she didn’t give love a second thought, that is until she met Dillon.

While Dillon is the complete opposite of Faith, they are both two tortured souls that have come together to become one. They are destined for one another and fate has most certainly played a part in bringing these two beautiful people together in the hopes that together they can start to heal.

While Faith and Dillon have endured a multitude of struggles and obstacles both as individuals and together, their love shone through with the beautiful and touching writing that most certainly pulled at my heart strings. Fortuity was such a compelling, inspiring and poignant story of faith, hope, strength and the ultimate power of love. I am really looking forward to reading book 2 in the duet, Serenity, because I am itching to see how Faith and Dillion’s journey concludes.

3.5 luck can be on your side stars.

The Characters & Chemistry.

From the day Faith was born the cards were stacked against. Her life wasn’t rosy but at twelve it took a turn for the worse. At the age of fifteen she was up the shite creek without a paddle. She needed a new kidney. Faith has had some seriously bad luck.

I really like Faith she made the best out of all of the cards that she’d been dealt. She is strong, resilient, is trying to pay her second chance forward, studying to help others in the foster care system. Yet with all the good she is doing, she is forgetting to live.

Dillon is the complete opposite of Faith. He comes from a loving family, although he suffered great loss he had a support system. But his gambling has gotten out of control. He works with Faith and the foster kids to appease his parents. I like Dillon as well. I felt his struggles.

The chemistry of these two is hard to describe if I’m being honest. Snap your fingers and they were together, yes they dated and it was made aware that it was over a couple of weeks but it all felt so rushed.

The Writing, Plot & Pace.

The writing here is really good and the author has done an exceptional job. You can tell that this book means a lot to the author. The plot is interesting and although this has been done before the author adds her own touches to it without making it lacklustre. I was hoping that the plot would have an unknown twist to it but alas that wasn’t the case. The pace of the book was impeccable at the beginning but the book could have been longer by concentrating on their relationship a bit more but this is just my opinion.

This is a hard review to write as to on a personal level didn’t make me emotionally burst. It would gradually build and when that bang was meant to happen it would stall.

Major cliffhanger here!

Wow! This story! There are too many emotions and not enough words to explain how the first of this duet made me feel.

Faith had an awful, neglected childhood that led to a catastrophic moment. What follows wasn’t much better and led to another moment that soon became the catalyst to one of the biggest challenges a person can face. As she comes out on the other side with a determination to succeed at the things she can control in her life, she begins to pay it forward in any way she can, reaching out to others who share a similar background to her own.

Faith wasn’t looking for a relationship when she meets Dillon, but recognizes that there is a strong pull between them. It never crosses her mind to fight against it. She willingly yields to him as he pulls her into his life which is so far removed from anything she has ever known. And suddenly, the life she has known is filled with happiness, love and laughter.

Dillon is instantly drawn to Faith from the first moment she jumped into his car and began to berate him. With a little additional matchmaking to throw these two together he finds himself claiming her as his own. Faith is all he ever needs and nothing will ever come between them.

I loved that Dillon and his family gave Faith acceptance in their lives when she had never known what a true family looked like. My heart hurt for her throughout so much of this story as she was left alone to struggle so when she finally finds a safe place to land I wanted to cheer. Dillon brought happiness into her life and she helped to ease the pain he carried in his own heart.

This is a fast paced read with high angst at the beginning, due to Faith’s life conditions. The rest was relatively low (at least until the end!) as this couple come together and begin their relationship. Through it all however, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Much like Faith herself did. I knew this was going to end in a cliffhanger and I suspected what might happen but even still, my heart shattered along with Faith’s when it arrived.

I was deeply invested in this heroine and her story and loved that fate brought Dillon into her life. She deserved good things and even better people to be there for her. I need to know that she’s going to be alright and that she’ll get her HEA but unfortunately, I’m not going to learn that until the next book Serenity is released. So glad that will be soon!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fortuity is a story that is full of heart and soul. You can't help but be touched by the path Faith has had to walk since she was a child. One of my favorite things to read about is a person who overcomes all the odds and succeeds in life. Faith's story is just that but she hasn't reached her happily ever after just yet.

This first book in the duet shows us the path Faith has had lead since she was a child. The struggle she constantly faced and had to overcome. It is one that will truly pull on your heartstrings and give you hope when she meets Dillon.

You are in for a real treat with Faith and Dillons love story. It's as sweet as they come and you will fall fast and hard for this couple. I loved seeing Faith finally getting to experience what it's like to have a family and to feel so fulfilled in life.

The end of the first book showed us one more obstacle Faith is going to have to face. My heart goes out to her and I will be waiting on pins and needles until the second book releases. I want her to have it all and I can't wait to see it happen. ARC provided by author.

**After reading**

This is the first in a duet by Rochelle Paige about a young foster girl named Faith and the man she meets, basically, because of her transplant and all that led up to her being in college. It was pretty predictable as far as this book goes in that but so much more happens in the second book that was quite a surprise.

This was really a sweet romance. I enjoyed the story but wasn't wowed by it. However, still a good book to read.

Legit reading and buying this book just because Daniel Rengering is the model on the front cover. Hot cop in real life. Yes, please!!!

Stupid ass book with stupid ass characters.

Plot: virgin heroine who is a foster kid, mum died from drug abuse, shitty life, paved her way with her education and working hard. Got ill, and had a kidney transplant at 18. Recovered, now 21.

A senior at college in her year. Privileged typical white boy hot jock hero. Gambles because he's sad. Lost his twin 3 years ago in a car accident who donated his organs. What do we think happens at the end that she finds out which makes her start crying making way for part 2 in this duet? 🙄 like she caused the brother to die, ffs, stupid idiot.

It's a great read but with a cliffhanger. Both H and h had a sad past that they didn't open to anyone; however, they met each other through H's mom. H was totally a sweetheart. Just wish there's more build-up between H and h without cliffhanger. I couldn't image how the story will develop. The storyline seemed can be ended within one book.

Faith, from a young age, learned the irony of her name. She didn't have any while being raised by an eighteen-year-old drug addicted single mom. Nor after learning said mom had no idea who her father was. Or as her mom became even more controlled by drugs, so much so to where Faith was left home alone, then subjected to numerous "uncles" as the men began coming to the house, leading Faith to find a place to hide, and certainly not when at age twelve she discovered her mom dead from an overdose.

After various foster homes, she had one constant on her life, her social worker, Sarah Steven's. And when Faith, sick for weeks but refused medical care by a foster mom, knew she needed help, that was who she called. Unfortunately, Faith seeked treatment too late and was deathly I'll, but received a miracle before succumbing to it. She refused to waste her second chance and used it instead to attend college, thanks to scholarships, and studied hard to earn a degree in social work.

Her first day, she immediately sees the difference between herself and the other students, and reprimands herself for even eyeing the handsome man laughing with his friends. She doesn't believe he'd ever look at someone like her when the "normal" girls are watching him too. Resigned, she spends the next three years focused solely on her studies and doing what she can to help other kids like her.

That dedication brought her to the attention of others resulting in an article that led Elaine Montogomery to her. Elaine, having suffered her own loss and awed by Faith's heart offers her support in any way and thus begins a program, funded by Elaine and others like her, to help other kids in the system.

When Dillon, Elaine's son, lands himself in trouble, his way of dealing with his grief, Elaine suggests he work with Faith, wanting him to see how others handle themselves and the struggles they must go through. Faith, caring for Elaine and thankful for all she does, agrees and soon she's meeting Dillon...the same boy she'd seen on her first day and believed was out of her reach.

Dillon, though he regrets disappointing his parents, is suddenly thankful for his black eye as it led to meeting Faith. He sees immediately how special Faith is and wants to spend time with her. When given the chance, he let's her know how he feels about her and soon they're an item.

As Dillon and Faith grow ever closer, their relationship only strengthens and both know they've found their one. Faith, needing to make peace with her past, takes a step to do so, having no idea what it could start.

What happens when Faith realizes her path and the Montgomerys crossed years prior? Will she lose the people she's come to love and consider her family? How will Dillon and his parents react?

I can't wait for part two, releasing May 8th, to find out.

One-click now and follow along as two people, both impacted by their own tragedies, find each other and discover a love that will change their lives.

This was a new author for me and I thought I'd give it a whirl. I was also endeared by how personal some of the subject matter was to the author. I found it very sappy, very sweet and full of the feel sorry for the heroine tropes that get on my nerves. As the reader I was constantly reminded that she was a foster kid...I get it, I read it in the first few pages of the book. It would have been a good change of pace after reading some of my more gritty books so maybe I'll revisit this author.

This story was so much more than I've bargained for. It's a harrowing, tragic but also incredibly beautiful and inspiring tale about loss, survival and second chances. Fortuity is indisputably Rochelle Paige's best work yet. I had tears in my eyes after reading the author's foreword and finding out what inspired her to write this book. You can literally feel that she poured her heart into this story and how much effort she put into creating a gripping plot and intriguing and multi-layered characters.

What I loved about Fortuity was that it showed us how fate works in mysterious ways. Sometimes life hands you shitty cards and brings you to your knees only in order to reward you when you least expect it. Faith went through so much - starting with a very unhappy childhood and followed by tough years as a teen which were sadly lacking love, attention and encouragement every child needs in order to thrive. However Faith managed to rise above those circumstances and to become a responsible and caring person.

When this little fighter had literally no more strength left in her and wanted to give up fate gave her finally a break and a second chance at life. She vowed not to let it go to waste, to make a difference. But she didn't really start living until she met Dillon Montgomery. This handsome guy was her complete opposite - rich, privileged and without a care in the world. But behind this facade Dillon was hiding a  tortured soul and broken heart which easily matched Faith's. They felt a strong, magnetic pull towards each other. Like they were always destined to be together.

I won't give away more details from the plot because I don't want to spoil this book for you. You should experience the same WTF moment like I did. It was truly a brilliant twist/cliffhanger at the end of the story. It lays the groundwork for the second book in the Fortuity duet: Serenity. The highly anticipated conclusion to Faith and Dillon's story is coming out May 8th.

I was enthralled by this story from page one and couldn't put it down for the life of me. It was an emotional rollercoaster worth all the tears and heartache. It has a remarkable heroine which you can't but admire and have the utmost respect for. The author also gave us a swoon-worthy and charming hero you will most certainly fall head over heals for. Bravo Rochelle! 5 stars

I loved this story so much <3 This was such an emotional and beautiful story between Dillon and Faith, who both have been through a lot of heartbreaking moments in their young age...

Faith is a survivor, I admired her character so much. She's strong yet at the same time sometimes vulnerable. She's sweet too with hints of sass mixed with her innocence, which I think all of this drew Dillon to her. He was determined to get to know her and when he realized that she wasn't like other girls, he was determined to make her his :) <3

There are a lot of obstacles that these two will have to overcome... trust me when I say that I can't wait to read Serenity, which is the conclusion to the Fortuity Duet :)

I recommend you guys to read this when it comes out in April 24, but I must warn that it has a surprise and devastating twist in the end and that ending is a sort of a cliffhanger for the final book, Serenity; but still you won't regret reading this because it was a beautiful story <3

I give my praises to Rochelle Paige because she did an amazing job writing this story <3 It discusses all about organ transplant and the journey (Faith) has to go through to continue living on with your life as well as giving us glimpses into the process that the organ donor's family has to be feeling too. It's not an easy journey for neither of these two and their families' and I once again say that Rochelle Paige did an awesome job and I can't wait to read Serenity <3 <3

I’m a shaking mess. This book is everything. There is absolutely no way I have adequate words to say how amazing this story is. It’s so much more than just a simple love story. It’s a story of loss, heartache, love and most of all FAITH. Having faith and determination to overcome and be the odds, to come out on the other side stronger. Dillion’s love for Faith is so much big then the pages of their book. And you feel every single one of the emotions with the! I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL MAY 8th!!!!!!!!!!! Rochelle Paige you nailed it!!

“You’re insanely sexy. It’s not just the way you look. There’s just something about you that draws me in and I can’t look away,” he reassured me. “Wanting—no needing—to get closer to you has been driving me crazy ever since we met. I’ve only managed to hold back because I didn’t want to scare you. But don’t think, for even one moment, that it’s because I don’t want you.”

This is a beautiful and emotional story written by Rochelle Paige. I thought this was going to be a light and sweet read but not the case, this was such a deep read, full of emotions and feels. Fortuity takes the reader on this emotional journey, one that will have you feeling the main characters pain and heartbreak. Ms. Paige really has outdone herself with this book and her characters, especially Faith- she takes the reader on a journey with Faith’s character. This is really Faith’s story-the heartbreak over her pain about her terrible past, her journey that shows her that karma/fate does work in miraculous ways especially when it comes to Love, something that has been in very short supply in Faith’s life. And then there is Dillion, whose all swoon worthy, sexy and hot. He too has a past full of heartbreak and pain. These two are perfect for one another, they are broken and lost souls who can help each other mend what is broken within one another. The perfect match to heal all the pieces of their damaged hearts. Fortuity was the perfect title for this book because it fits the story perfectly and with this book ending on a huge cliffhanger, I cant wait to find out what happens in Serenity with our main characters which comes out in the next 2 weeks on May 8th! . My calendar is locked and loaded for the conclusion of this beautiful and emotional journey that has gone on for Faith and Dillion.

My Rating: 4.7 stars *****

Wow talk about a book with all the feels!! This story had so many emotions from beginning to end. My heart was all over the place with this story.

Faith had the worse upbringing and extremely difficult childhood. She grew up in the system and was a loner but that didn’t stop her from wanting to become something in life. Then things went left for her and it was a terrible moment for her. It was a very struggling and desperate moment for her. Then after so much heartache and patience things started looking like it was going to change for her. Faith decided that she was going to make something of herself and started working towards that goal.

Dillon came from an extremely wealthy family but had so many issues that he was battling with because of an incident that occurred. It seemed like he was beginning to spiral out of control any minute. Then he met Faith and everything changed. The way these two met was surprising and the sweetest.

Faith and Dillon friendship developed into a relationship that had no drama. It was beautiful to see how everything developed and the things they shared with each other. It showed how they helped each other out in so many different ways. Their chemistry was unbelievable. I loved every angst and every emotion

That cliffhanger I saw coming in the middle of the book and I can’t wait to read the conclusion. I’m very anxious for it.

Fortuity

Where to even begin on this Duet!!!! First of all, I don’t know how I missed this book when it originally came out but man it was amazing!!!

Faith had a rough start at life and it only got worse from there. Being born to a young mom who didn’t know how to be a mom to only being left behind. At the age of twelve, Faith is placed in foster care where she never found her place. At the young age of seventeen, she develops a disease from not getting proper treatment that is now shutting down her kidney!! Her only hope is for a miracle but everyone kept telling her to have faith.
Now with a second chance at life, she is determined to make the most of it. She wants to do justice for the gift that she was given.

Dillon has been given everything he could ever want throughout his life only he is struggling. He keeps it hidden from the outside world. His parents have had enough and want to help. His mom ask Faith for a favor. No one knew that the favor would turn out to be exactly what they both needed. Dillon and Faith quickly fall in love and are ready to start their lives together.

What happens when fate might have had more to do with their connection and their past is now colliding with their future? Can Faith’s insecurities of being left behind keep her from moving forward?

-safe read
-no om/ow drama
-h is a virgin
-H is celibate for a few years
-ends on a cliffhanger to be picked up in Serenity.

An interesting start to an emotional college romance -- and you'll be surprised that the male lead, Dillon Montgomery is not a football star awaiting the NFL draft! Nope, there's an issue of casino gambling though. Some major complications are ahead -- but we're not faced with imminent death -- yet! The heroine is a victim of a lifetime of loneliness, sadness, and troubled waters. But she's a fighter and a fascinating young woman -- a girl named Faith. Yes, her name will come full circle. And Dillon -- well, you'll come to appreciate him more than I ever thought possible.

Warning - cliffhanger ahead. But the second book is available. These books are very short. That is my biggest criticism. There is not much development and everything is pretty much just there without any real depth. I can see where this books would have been a major favorite for me if there had been more fully developed in the relationship building. It definitely had the outline for an all around winner -- and the characters, too. Too bad it was short-circuited.

This was an absolutely beautiful story and I cannot wait to see what the next book entails.

Faith has had a hard life. She has been through more than any child should have to. She receives a gift that gives her hope but because of her past she is always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Dillon is the average rich kid that did whatever he wanted pretty much until a terrible incident happens to him. Not knowing how to cope, he does things his parents don’t approve of. He doesn’t let anyone in.

Both of the ma n characters are not prepared for the other. The story you get to watch unravel is heart felt filled with fear, love, hope, excitement and faith.

It's not everyday that you come across a book that can touch you so deeply. Fortuity did that and more! This was such an emotional and touching story. The challenges and hurdles both Dillon and Faith have conquered in their lives are a true inspiration to others that you can overcome anything. I absolutely loved both of them and can't wait to read the rest of their story in Serenity!

I absolutely loved this book. I felt so sorry for Faith. The way she got treated with her mom and then at her foster home. She finally gets a second chance and she is not letting anything get in her way. She was going to make a difference in the world and that she did. She helped so many kids get ready for college that thought wouldn't make it. She really started living when she met Dillion. The love story between them is amazing. They are there for one another. I loved the relationship that she has with Dillions family. The family that she always wanted.
The end of the book made me cry. There is an obstacle that faith has to face. And I can't wait for the next book so I can see how she gets through it and hopefully she gets all that she wanted.

Holy Fucking Shit what a Book, What a Story....
I'm reeling from how fantastic this story is.

Rochelle Paige Holy Mother Of God WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO.... OMFG

Ok ladies grab this book go in blind and I promise you that you will be I see of this absolutely mesmerising, Beautifully Written Story.

Fortuity starts of with you being gripped by the heart. It's so gut wrenchingly. Watching everything Faith has to endure since she was born. Watching her being thrown, hurt, neglected and unloved, you would what the hell is going on. Why does such an innocent girl have to go through so much.

Then she meets this amazing, So Amazing Hero. Dillon has his own demons he is battling and needs Gambling as a Crutch.

Though when these two meet its an instant connection. Their chemistry and pull towards each other is thick and undeniable. They burn hot and sexy. You will think Finally fucking Finally Our Girl gets some happiness and Goodness in her life ....

But Life and destiny can be such a Bitch sometimes. It leaks in and poisons everything. My heart is left in my palm by this Cliffhanger. It was such an amazing one and I didn't see that coming. Now I need the second book SOOOO desperately.

Dillon's mum BTW is freaking awesome. I love his parents.

Go grab this book ladies.
ENJOY!!!!
